Then I tilt the head back so that the chin is pointing to the ceiling and raise my shoulders off the floor-doesn't have to be much movement, but you really feel it in your lower abdomen. This bothers my neck, but I do 10 reps anyway. The absolute best is one my teenage daughter learned in at a Flag Corps camp: Lie on the back with legs extended and toes pointed. Slowly raise the legs, then slowly lower them, stopping about 3 inches from the floor. Hold this as long as possible. You can play around here-opening and closing the legs, taking them up and down just a little bit, placing one foot on top of the other and sort of "bouncing " them up and down a little bit, etc. The goal is to keep the legs off of the floor and to use your abs to do the work. It took about a month for me to see any improvement and my baby is going to be 13 in October! None of this is fun, but it really did help!
