Subject:  Teacher-Student Written Contract Question

I had a question to put out to the group. Being brand new as of tonite, I'm
unaware if this has come up or not, but here goes. Some colleagues have
"verbal" contracts and others have written ones. I feel I'd do better with my
students if I had something in writing, i.e.: payment for 4 lessons expected on
or before 1st of the month, 24 hr notice of cancellation of lesson, if you miss
a lesson, you're still expected to pay, etc.

One difficulty is that I'm geographically located in the Southeastern US. We
have decades of quirky traditions that have gone on around here and I'd like to
sidestep some of these with a decently and fairly written contract.

Thanks!

Ed
