if i had not made the distinction between speech range and speaking
voice before, let me make it now. i guess i am in agreement with those who
view the 'different voices' as fry, modal and falsetto. i call modal voice
'speaking voice'. i don't think that female pop singers sing in speech
range, i think they sing in speaking voice. i think female opera singers
sing in falsetto (if you want to call it reinforced or, 'head' voice, that's
fine but, it is the same voice counter-tenors sing in).
