I've been accused of coming off as somewhat cocky in a situation where I'm nervous -- a master class I did awhile back that wasn't going particularly well comes to mind -- that's a very astute observation. It's like shyness being perceived as being aloof or stuck-up (another thing I've been accused of - it's hard being shy when you aren't traditionally shy -- I'm very gregarious when I'm comfortable but if I'm not, people assume I'm stuck up....)
