Subject:  Comic Songs for Soprano

Hi again Sages,

I'm starting to collect songs for a cabaret-style recital sometime next year
and need some help on selections. I'll definitely be doing the cabaret song
sets by Britten and Bolcom, plus "A Word on My Ear" and possibly "Glitter
and Be Gay."

What I'm looking for are songs for a soprano with a funny or ironic twist.
The TIS site has a section on Vocal-Humorous, but I'm not familiar with any
of the items besides "Sarah's Encores." As always, any help will be greatly
appreciated. If this recital is successful I'll probably do another one, so
I'm collecting as many ideas as I can!

By the way, has anybody done this before? For those who have, I'd love to
hear about your experience and any advice you have on scheduling, venue,
marketing, etc. I've never even given a solo recital before, but I just know
I can do comic material like nobody else and feel it my bones that I have to
do this. Many thanks in advance!

Happy holidays to all,
Rachel
