Since the whole body is the instrument, it really is not so surprising.
My new book, Singing With the Whole Self" co-authored with a Certified Feldenkrias Practitioner, addresses many related areas where tension impacts the voice (hand tension locks up jaw and tongue, for instance) with full explanations as well as modularized "Awareness Through Movement" exercises (known as ATM's in the Feldenkrais community) to unlock said tension.
I've always maintained that a good chunk of a voice teacher's work is helping the student to identify areas of "blockage" (ie tension) and devising strategies to eradicate that tension in order to free up the voice.
