My apologies if someone had already mentioned it on this thread, but look
into the March 2001 issue of Opera News. There is a feature dealing at
length about Verde and the problems with the Abigaille role and sopranos who
have sung it ... most comprehensive and analytical, fascinating and lots of
photos! Again, did anyone mention this back when this thread was alive?
