The other evening I was at a party when I heard a recording of a tenor singing a *really* sour note. I was informed it was from a Donizetti performance at the Met more than a decade ago, and that this clip has become something of a cult phenomenon.
The passage I remember hearing was A4, G4, E5 during an ensemle. Actually it was more like an Eb5 at the top, but you get the point of why the note was so sour :-) It was off a cassette, so potentially it might have been Bb4, Ab4, F5 (wouldn't put it past Donizetti)...
Anyway, I would *love* to hear this again, and was hoping someone could give me more information about this little gem of a performance. Where might I download it? Is it available in CD stores? Is there some more info on it somewhere on the web?
Thanks so much for your assistance.
