Hi all,
I am a young dramatic soprano (I swear it, it's not just one person who tells me this!) and I need arias. "Deh vieni" and such are definite too-da-loos, as my voice is too dark and weighty. I am especially interested in Italian arias for this summer, but if you can list a few german arias (are there any suitable ones for younger singers? All I know of is "Ach ich fuhl's" and I can't sing it!) and some french arias for grad school audition purposes, I would appreciate it. I love Menotti's "To this we've come" for an English dramatic aria, yet I know it is not age appropriate at all.
My other question to you: what do you think of Fiordiligi as a role for an undergrad student? Suor Angelica? These are two roles I am looking at for next year....
thanks,
Molly _________________________________________________________________
