Subject:  Breath control of castrati




Sorry to bring this topic up again.

I read somewhere that the larynxes of the castrati remained the size of a
child's, while the lungs and rest of the body grew to adult size.(all of
it?)

Anyway,that would account for their ability to sing unusually long phrases,
the relationship between the amount of air available and the size of the
apperture.Add to that the obvious technical ability and you have something
very special.
