I think copyright law probably varies from country to country. For Canadian regulations, see www.cancopy.com. Here's a good site with US info - http://www.benedict.com/. You might also want to check with whoever you're auditioning for. I just entered a competition where the rules specifically forbid the use of photocopies, and stated that original copies of each piece must be used by the pianist/given to the adjudicator - with disqualification the result of using a photocopy!
