The standard reference on Faecher is the Kloiber Handbuch. This is used by all German, Swiss and Austrian Theatres.
'Clarion' in this context is probably a simple qualifying adjective describing the timbre of the particular voice under discussion.

Hi all,
I was reading an article where a singer was described as being a "clarion tenor" (can't remember who they were talking about right now). I've heard and read about quite a few tenor classifications before, but "clarion tenor" is new to me. Does anyone know what range and vocal quality is meant by this classification?
While I'm on the topic, does anyone know a good website that explains the different fachs/voice types? The topic of voice type comes up on this forum from time to time and I don't have instant recall on the various voice types.
Thank you!
