I tried the lip-blowing technique. It works as long as you remember to continually expel air. If you don't, you may get unseemly sounds when the pressure behind the lips exceeds your ability to retain it, or, you get a tense oral/jaw/biting sensation. I didn't like that. I will have to practice it more before I can decide if it is a good long term solution. Sometimes just breathing naturally is the best thing for voice and muscles.
