john, first, let me say that if you thought your answer was more confusing than the original question, you are going to have to work harder than that (' told him' 'yes you did prof. corey')! secondly, i had worked with a student who had been told that her false cords were getting involved. there is only one other person i know who, supposedly, involved the false cords (the former is female, the latter male). the former had a breathy tone when she sang and the latter a fairly clear, though wobbly sound. the only similarity to their sounds was a nasality similar to that heard in a person with a cleft palette. is this a sound that goes with false cord involvement or is that coincidental? also, are the pitches they sing sometimes affected by the condtition? (why don't i just ask 'how can you tell by listening to them?')
thanks, mike
