How about "Science Fiction Double Feature," from Rocky Horror Picture Show (the original theatrical production, NOT the movie)? In the original, it's sung by Magenta, and begins: "Michael Rennie was ill the day the earth stood still, but he showed us where we stand. Flash Gordon was there in silver underwear; Claude Rains was the invisible man." etc. etc. Mentions a LOT of old movie stars.
Cheers!

> I'm looking for songs about movies, movie stars, particularly stars pre-1970. For example, I have both Ricky Ian Gordon's and Christopher Berg's setting of "Poem" which starts with the immortal words, "Lana Turner has collapsed!" I also have a song by Leiber & Stoller called "Humphrey Bogart," "Oh to be a movie star" from APPLE TREE, and am looking at a song by Gene Scheer which has something to do with being at a party at Howard Hawks' house (although it's written for baritone). Also, "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee." > > I'd rather have too much rep than not enough, so send it all my way (and if you know where it can be located - anthology, score, whatever, include that!). > > Thanks. > > Chris > > > Christine Thomas, > Mezzo Soprano > > "I love to sing-a, about the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a!" > > > > > > > > > > >
