it depends on the task. if you are asking your voice to sing over an orchestra, without a microphone and in a huge opera house, you are asking your voice to do a lot. performing this task as efficiently as possible does not necessarily qualify as something one should expect the voice to do as easily as talk all day on the phone. but, whatever the task, the more efficiently one performs that task, the less of a toll it should take.
