Subject:  Re: [vocalist] the value of a music degree

A friend of mine did a piano performer's licentiate through Trinity College
and Royal Schools, with a private teacher. She was an excellent pianist and
repetiteured for many years at the opera house. She then decided to go to
the college of music to do a degree. In retrospect, she was sorry that she
had not made that decision earlier. As many on this list have observed, it's
the company of so many students and top musicians with the same aim that
seems to make all the difference, especially for a practical diploma or
degree.

Just my 2c worth (and they sure ain't worth much here!)
