Hi all,
Just wanted to share a notice about the new online NATS Journal Index. If you're researching voice-related topics or thinking about writing an article, please visit www.nats.org and give the Journal Index a try. It's free and open to the public.:-)
What is the Journal Index? It's a searchable online database of bibliographic information and descriptions of NATS journal articles written between 1944-1996, including the Journal of Singing, The NATS Journal, The NATS Bulletin, and The Bulletin. It's based on a print index, "Resources for the Teaching of Singing," created by former NATS president John Burgin. Entries from 1996 through the present are being created, and will be added to the Journal Index as soon as they are available.
While this database does not search or display the articles themselves, it provides an introduction to the contents of NATS' journals, and a means of quickly finding what articles have been written on specific topics or by specific authors. You can search by any or all of the following: Author Keyword, Title Keyword, General Keyword, Year, Month, or Subject. Best of all, it's fast and easy to use. The link is available from the nats.org homepage (click on "Journal Index") or go directly to http://www.nats.org/ji.html . Try it for yourself, then please tell your colleagues and students about this new resource!
