Subject:  ornamentation of Mozart arias

A good example of Mozart writing out ornaments to help a singer is "Ach,
ich fuhl's" from the Magic Flute. As far as I can gather, the first Pamina
was only sixteen and needed guidance for a cadenza, hence "Meinem Herzen"
to the top B flat which otherwise would have been left to the soprano to do
for herself as, for example in "Come Scoglio" and "Per pieta" in "Cosi", at
the second time around "Come scoglio"(pause) "immoto resta" (pause)"Contra
i venti" (pause) etc and in several places in the aria.
