Thank you for your very thoughtful response. I was annoyed and somewhat insulted by the situation, but uncertain as to whether I might be over-reacting. I'm glad to know that others respond similarly.
I have the woman's address (I did a reverse look-up on the Internet) and am considering writing her a letter. If so, I will cite the NATS guidelines.
