Hi Dianne, People have already made suggestions for Sibelius and Finale. Both good software, but a bit pricey. I have a very inexpensive ($39) software that does the trick for me. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the other two, it does a pretty good job. It's called NoteWorthy Composer.
I use it to: - transpose - record accompaniments - create midi files - convert existing midi files to something I can edit
For $39, I think this is an incredibly reasonable software. I think you can still download a demo of the software at www.noteworthycomposer.com if you would like to check it out.
Good luck in your search!

Hi All,
Could anyone recommend some software for music, especially transposition. My main problem is that I have some hand written scores, which are virtually impossible for my accompanist and my teacher to read (not to mention myself), and I would like to make them somewhat legible.
I know there are some very good programs out there, but I can't remember what they are called.
Thanks
Di
