the problem with 'stuctured in a class setting...' for girls of that
age, in my experience, is that they see structure as opposite to the 'playful
risk' one needs to take to sing better. the more like fun and the less like
math class you can make things, the more likely you will be to trick these
kids into singing better.

karaoke christina is a good idea. this is their idea of what good
singing is. unless they can see themselves taking steps towards that ideal,
they won't think they are doing well.
