Jennifer, you state not all the overweight women in America suffer from the side effects of hormonal irregularities. While it is true for some, they are the exceptions, and if you are one, remember that and don't take this whole discussion so personally.

This thread has been bugging me. Yes, there are some people who are overweight because they eat too much/don't exercise. However, there are many other reasons people are overweight that aren't a product of laziness or anything they have or haven't done - hormonal problems, genetics, various medical conditions, etc. (e.g. 8-10% of women suffer from a hormonal condition that has weight gain as one of its symptoms).
Can those of you fortunate enough to fit into the current cultural views of what is acceptable please stop making the others feel bad, especially when it's something they may have no control over?
