Dear Vocalist:

I thought Claritin was just about the mildest thing one could use. I do
okay with it if I hydrate properly. For something non-drying, the VoiceCare
Network mentions a product called Sinutab Non-Drying. I've used it--it's
pretty mild. I believe it's a decongestant.

When I lived in Austin--supposedly the allergy capitol of the world,
although I never had so much as a cold there--the EENT of choice there
recommended a product called Humibid. It actually makes your nose run more,
but you blow your nose instead of the mucous running down the back of the
throat. He prescribed this to all the singers who saw him for allergy
problems. I see you can get Humibid over-the-counter, although I'm not sure
of the dosage. Entex was also a common allergy medication down there.

Good luck!
