Dear Jana,
I must say how I appreciate this. I added the side
consciousness to my technique and got an immediate return from it.
Thank you!
Especially helpful when I'm warming up and less than 100%.
On another point since your input seems to click with me,
is it your experience that the cardinal vowels require very little lip
reforming from 'nee' to 'neh' 'noo' 'nor' and 'nah' and if so, does this hold
true for the higher pitches? My 'forward' production includes what feels to
me as a pronounced lip protrusion but is not in fact so when I look in
the mirror. As a tenor I don't imitate him but I notice that Bryl Terfel is
a clear proponent of the forward relaxed lips.
