I've always heard Ricordi for Italian (especially
Puccini), Peters for German (especially lieder),
Barenreiter for Mozart, Dover for cheap full scores
for comparing with the vocal score, and Schirmer only
if you don't have a choice.

I'd get the 4-act version, since the 5-act version is
hardly ever done... in my opinion, you'll get more
mileage out of the 4-act version in the long run.

Everything's going to have a typo or two... slip into
a music library to go over your part with an
orchestral score in hand, to make sure all the
notes/markings are the same. Dover might have one,
but I'm not sure.
