Gina, `I used Ricordi(4 acts) for the excerpts I did, it worked very well. As far as I know the 5 acts is the original French creation, later Verdi prepared the 4 acts in Italian, so there must be some changes at least to accommodate the language. However, composers love to revise their work and chang around a few phrases... sorry not having more accurate information on this one!
