Sounds good to me. I think there are times when we work on things a little
beyond us to
stretch ourselves, and other times when we pull back and sing less vocally
demanding music
to perfection. Last year, I was working only on lieder and songs and stayed
away from
arias, and it's really paid off. I started singing arias again last fall, and
things
which used to seem hard for me, now come much more easily. At my lesson last
week, my
teacher had me sing through "Caro nome", which I love, but have never considered
attempting, and I was amazed at how well it fit into my voice and how easily I
sang it
(though it has a way to go to be ready to sing in public).
