Is water drinking in England a no-no? When I went to England in 1962, I was 14 at the time and the Beatles hadn't arrived on my side of the pond yet. My family and I were in a pub in London called The Cheshire Cheese. When a fellow American requested a glass of water, the waiter asked if he also wanted a bar of soap so he could take a bath.
