Subject:  Re: singing in tune

I believe that singing off key is often
poor ear skills which can be worked on
and with time produce improvement.
I have had, though, adults who did not
know how to sing other than a tight,
chested belt of sorts. Once they were
shown how to get the face/head resonance,
they could sing more in tune.
Often, I think it's a combination of improper
support, tension, not knowing where or how
to focus the sound and perhaps being a
lazy listener.
If you can come to pinpoint where or what
may be causing the problem, then targeting
specific exercises should help.
