just as singing like crap never stays around long, neither does singing
like a breakthrough. what we get most of the time is some kind of average.
a breakthrough is an extraordinary event. what you did to achieve it was
probably a missing piece rather than 'the answer'.

to get 'it' back will, most likely, take seeing the whole picture and
how that missing piece fits into the whole. as you know, singing doesn't
feel the same from day to day. sometimes there are big differences,
sometimes just little differences. with the elements you are well
acquainted in using, sometimes it needs a little this, sometimes a little
that. this breakthrough element is a new something to work into the spice
rack.

one night of reflux is not enough to wreck you, especially if you are
not sure it caused you problems at the time in question.
