Yes - my first (and wonderful) voice teacher was a man (tenor), and I'm a soprano. My current voice teacher is a woman (and a soprano), and both have been excellent teachers for me. Their teaching styles and personalities are very different, though their basic approach to teaching singing is the same (probably because they both studied with several of the same teachers along the way).
If my current teacher were not able to teach me for some reason, of the other teachers I know, the one I'd want to study with is a man (baritone).
I think any voice type can teach any voice type - however I also think it's good for a singer to study with a (good) teacher of the same voice type at least once along the way, because of the intimate knowledge of repertoire and first-hand knowledge of the challenges in the repertoire that the teacher can provide.
