Dear Isabelle,
Before saying or recommending anything about the petitions by email, I rather think if you reach to the end of the email, you will find the email address of the person who takes charge of this petitions. Your recommendation or suggestion will be worthwhile there for her, not to me nor the list. Expose your thoughts directly to her is better to the list, right? I forwarded to the email to you and the list because I feel that at least I could help even it'll work or not. But, my intention would be emphasised, right?

Email petitions are worthless. I hate to say it, but governmental agencies pay no attention to email or web petitions. Even emailing your representative directly is of minimal value (and then only if you include your full address and telephone number in the email).
If you feel strongly about an issue, write a LETTER ON PAPER and mail it to your Congressmen, Governor, and state legislators.
Find your Representatives: http://congress.org/search.html (and give it a second to think)
