Hi Leslie!
Vicki Bryant indicated in an earlier e-mail that I would write you. Sorry
that I didn't do it sooner...between Thanksgiving & having either
rehearsals or performances every night this week, including today &
tomorrow, it has been nuts. Thankfully, next week will be a little
quieter!

Anyway...

There is a book of songs by Garcia, Malibran & Viardot published by
Alfred, which is a good source (Garcia was the father of the two women) &
it is available in High or Low range. I am currently singing "Hai Luli" &
"Les Filles de Cadix" for the upcoming Women composers recital. The best
songs are by Viardot (Miss "I play piano 4 four hands with Chopin").
There is also a fun but difficult duet, "Habenera", that Vicki & I have
done on previous incarnations of this program.

The other book that I picked up for this is two sets of songs by Fanny
Hensel (Mendelsohn Barthody) - Opus 1 & Opus 7 - definately for High
voice. It is a reprint by Bote & Bock of the original publication in
1846. I bought it through Classical Vocal Reprints. Currently, I'm
singing "Erwin" & "Dein ist Mine Herz" from Opus 7 & will be adding
"Fruhling" to our program scheduled for the spring (get it?). IMHO, of
her songs that I've heard recorded, these are a good representation of
the best/most interesting.
