Dear John and Vocalist:
I did like the acting in this film, and the design. I thought Gary Oldman gave a superb performance in the film. I've showed portions of it to my music appreciation classes. But I still think that they could have perhaps used Beethoven's 3 symphony in the previously mentioned scene--it would have been just as appropriate, and pointed out the irony of Beethoven's bitter disappointment in Napoleon's treachery. I have the sneaking feeling that the 3rd wouldn't have been as soundtrack-friendly.
Cheers!
