Subject:  Older students/school advice

Dear K and Jennifer,

For an older singer the best situation is studying with someone who needs you to perform in a professional level performance for which he/she bears artistic responsibility. You need an opera performance opportunity suitable for your voice for which a skilled teacher of performers can prepare you. The initial performance opportunity should have a lighter responsibility, i.e. ensemble, understudy, very small role.

I would be happy to give you the email addresses of older singers who have performed as part of the Summer Institute of the Rome Festival Opera in Italy.
