I use to rock my infant to Signore Ascolta and other Puccini sweet arias.
Then as he got older (toddler) he would go to performances with me and would
sit in the audience. One time at a performance where there was no stage and
he was about 10 feet away from me, after a very thunderous applause by our
local Jr. Welfare leaguers, my son decided he want some of that applause.
So on the next aria he got up and stood at my feet facing the audience with
his arms out like the great "Pav" (he had his dinner napkin in his hand), he
began to mimic "O Mio Babino". The audience went wild, and it was on the
front page of our newspaper the next day.

Of course, now, 15 years later, he hits the road the minute I start to sing.
He still has an interest in my music, but it is very guarded.

Time certainly flies. And so do those great moments.
