Ok, I feel guilty now for commenting about the looks on my judges' faces at NATS last weekend. Actually, I figured out pretty quickly that I just had to play to the wall and give it my all, and in the end I was very pleased with the critiques that I got. My sole reason for even going was to get objective feedback from the judges, which I have studied and learned from! It doesn't matter if the judges smile or not, but if first timers like myself knew in advance that this was no ordinary "Sunday morning congregation" type audience it would be less of a shock. Actually, it is kind of liberating-you can pour yourself into it without worrying about the audience!
