Dear Randy and Vocalisters:

You wrote in reply to a question from "valevanni@m..." about
difficulty with the /a/ and /u/ vowels

"This is happening most likely because /i/ and /u/ induce vocal fold
lengthening and any swellings that may be there would interfere with that
type of production."

I am most interested in this phenomenon. Can you give me more
information about it?
