Subject:  cabaret


Dear friends,

Our voice faculty is putting together a light concert titled "cabaret."
There is some perception among our male faculty that this "theme" is only
for women and gay men (not that there's anything wrong with that. . . .). I
would like to hear from you regarding repertoire that might be appropriate
for all voice types, including those among us who wish to maintain their
heterosexual dignity (grin).

My understanding of cabaret repertoire is that it is politically
controversial. Any opinions regarding what cabaret repertoire implies would
be greatly appreciated as well.
