lloyd,

this is a lovely statement. it describes exactly what i have come to
find in singing since finding other forms of music to sing.

a few years ago, in a guitar magazine (i forget which one), david bowie
talked about recording 'earthling'. in their rehearsals, reeves gabrels had
challenged him to allow himself to make mistakes without fear and to allow
himself to sing badly. he said removing the fear of being bad allowed him
the freedom to find things he wouldn't have otherwise.

the only way i can describe the difference that i feel is, it's like
being yourself instead of trying to fit in. oddly enough, my sister finds
this same freedom in singing wagner. ah, music! a little something for
everyone.

thanks,
mike
