I just wanted to wholeheartedly agree with your
statement that not all people are alike. This, IMHO,
is the biggest problem with any technique. Not every
image works for every voice or every personality.
There are certainly scientificly "correct" things that
will or will not happen, BUT not everyone will respond
to being told to "use the intercostals" or to "keep
the high notes in head voice" or even to "sing more
legato". We, as singers, always have to interepret
everything into our own voices. And if you do best,
sing the most freely, and get the most joy out of your
singing by not taking lessons, so be it. I have
learned a lot in the times I haven't taken voice
lessons. (However, I have also learned a lot from my
teachers.)

My 2 cents.

Lisa-Marie
