Subject:  Confession

Dear Caio and Fellow Listers,

Please, my post was not meant to criticize or be rude to an internationally
based list.. I apologize, then. I wanted to make an observation, and did it
badly. I had no idea that the list was mostly international. I guess I needed
more information, which I should have gotten.

If most of you have English as a Second Language, then I would revise my
observation. I think, then, that those on this list, without English as mother
tongue, write extremely well. As a teacher, I would be impressed with this
level of writing. Having taught English as a Second Language, as a second
career when not singing, I recognize a much higher language competence. My
observation was, of course, out of line.

My second language is German, and I believe I write German as well as I do
English, but only because I lived in Germany and Austria for twelve years, and
my first college degree was in German Language education. I have taught German
and German diction for singers for many years.

I am contrite and seek forgiveness. May I please have a second chance?

Chris

<< The ability to 'fully express ideas and concepts' in writing is a
problem
most people have in any language and increase due to the 'chatting'
nature
of a list like this. People, when writing here, will not be aware of
every
single word they write, but that is the very nature of a list like this,
mostly being an international list.

Furthermore, Christopher, are you as articulate in your second language
as Caio is in English?
