You know, I had an IUD implanted about 1 year and a half ago, and I can't say
enough how superior it is to all birth control that I have tried: no
hormones, no mess, no mind. They are VERY safe at this point, even for women
who haven't had children and are still considering it (my case). They
suffered bad press due to the Dalcon shield problems in the 70s, but my
physician, who is a woman, and who also wears an IUD, has assured me that
that is well over and done with and the new IUDs are safe and SUPER
effective. I LOVE it, and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in
not dosing their bodies with hormones.
