I don't get to hear a lot performers (don't get out much), but of the ones
I've heard, she's in a class by herself, at least in the operatic
vein. I've heard some good art song stuff from Dawn Upshaw...

IMO, microphone singing is a much more flexible medium than unamplified. I
hear much more subtle performances from the great folk/pop singers, like
Joni Mitchell. It doesn't mean opera singers aren't musical, they are just
limited in how they may use their voices...
