I don't know anything about adjudicating, but having competed in the Southern
Regional NATS auditions last weekend the one thing I noticed about the judges
was that they all looked like they could bite the head off of a live
chicken!! Not just my judges (however, one of the 3 had a smile and pleasant
look on her face. the other 2 were scary) but I listened in on some of my
friends auditions and saw the same look on other judges faces! Is this
something they tell them to do so as not to give false hope or something?
I placed 2nd in my division so they must have like me but it sure is
difficult for me to sing to a dead-faced audience! I really "overused" my
hands and I knew when I was doing it that it was more hand motion than I
usually do, but so help me I think that I was just bound and determined to
get some response from that 3 people audience!
