In my opera literature class, my professor was talking on Wednesday
about the peculiar voice type that Rossini wrote for: the lyric
coloratura mezzo-soprano. It is the type of voice that sings Rosina
from Il Barbiere and the title role in La Cenerentola. I would
suggest that that is what Cecilia Bartoli does well, and describes her
voice well - dark and flexible with a high extension.

Lately, it seems that this is what my voice is turning out to be
too...
