Don't despair! The 9th has *hellish* writing for all parts. I don't know anyone who thinks the choral parts are easy. Many composers think "Oh, sopranos can sing A5, so I will write a page of A5s!" I have a high voice too, but find unflatteringly written parts difficult, even if they are in my middle range.
Coloraturas must start switching to the flageolet register around where most sopranos have the luxury of topping out. Maybe the stuff you find hard sits on those "transition" areas?
