hi gwendel,

the fact that you think of C#4 as a place where something different
happens may cause your hitch. that is, by saying something has to take
place on such and such a note, you cause it to happen.

as an experiment, you might try starting on a low note, going up a
scale to a high note, A or Bb, and start mixing gradually right away.
continue mixing until you get to the top (you can divide the scale. you
don't have to do it all at once). then go back to what you normally do.
in your normal approach, do you stay in 'one gear' until you have to switch?
do you build pressure as you increase pitch?
