caio,
having been called much worse than mike with a capital 'M', that is fine with me.
country is the most obvious style to make use of an open nasal port. there are a lot of crooners who go back and forth from open to closed. one very effective way to create a diminuendo in a crooning style (or any style where that sound is not offensive) is to open the nasal port.
i have yet to check out alan greene's book but, i plan to. what is his background? and why does he say lowering the palate is good?
